Description: T. Richardson, Waverham

A fantastic mahogany longcase eight-day clock, profusely inlaid in boxwood with fantastic shell inlays to trunk and ovals to the hood. This is an exceptionally good quality case with incredible detail in the inlays and tumbridgeware stringing. The eight-day movement on a broken arch painted face with rolling moon. The shaped full-length door is surrounded in moulding and flanked by square fluted columns terminating in boxwood inlaid capitals. The swan neck hood with arched moulded cornice and square fluted columns. The base raised on bracket feet.

The eight-day movement with makers name of T. Richardson, Waverham, striking the hour has a broken arch painted face with rolling moon, subsidiary second and date aperture. The four corners are adorned with fine quality paintings of young maidens depicting the four seasons.
